The Humboldt Waste Management Authority HWMA is a regional JPA seeking an Executive Director with proven management expertise to lead the organization. We are looking for a creative problem solver to lead an agency with an annual budget of 9,000,000 and a staff of 37. The successful applicant will have strong communication expertise, a proven record and expertise to oversee budgeting, financial reporting, operating systems and the organizational skills to inspire a team atmosphere. HWMA disposes of solid waste and promotes waste reduction and recycling efforts.Humboldt County is located on the Pacific coast 275mis north of San Francisco. Our area is noted for our beautiful Redwood trees, ocean vistas and outdoor recreational opportunities. We boast a community college and state university and rich cultural and arts community, excellent private and public schools, many diverse living options, a new state- of- the- art- hospital, excellent healthcare system , affordable housing and a high-quality of life BS or BA required in Public Administration, Engineering or Environment Sciences or related position, or a combination of degree and related skills may be considered. Salary is 96,000 to 117,699.
